Last summer was a milestone for the Ever Forward Club. For the first time, we hosted a cohort of interns—five young leaders from CSU East Bay, Santa Clara University, American University and the University of San Francisco—who were determined to carry the #MillionMaskMovement into their campus communities. They weren't just here to observe; they rolled up their sleeves, brought fresh energy, and helped us expand our mission of self‑discovery and emotional honesty.
Each intern had a unique story and a fierce commitment to creating spaces where people could be seen and heard. Together, they organized mask‑making circles and pop‑up events at Cal State University East Bay orientations, Juneteenth celebrations, First Fridays gatherings, the Games of Berkeley Conference (where we displayed The Adventure Card Game), online workshops and youth summer camps.
By the end of August, the interns had hosted circles on campuses, in parks, at youth camps, and onlinescreenshot. Hundreds of masks were drawn and countless conversations about identity, mental health and connection took place.
Thank you to Matthias Dempsey, Michael Kvashin, Ajah Hawkins, Grace Manilac, and Jadia Peavy for bring the #MillionMaskMovement to your communities!
