Dream Builders: A Brotherhood Vision Board Night
Theme & Purpose
Vision Board Night brings young men together with caring adults to imagine and design their futures. Vision boards are more than cut-out pictures — they are reflections of who we are, where we want to go, and the goals that can shape us. But just like images on a board, we also carry dreams and struggles we usually don’t let others see about ourselves.
This event begins with the #MillionMaskMovement, where participants reflect on their outside self (the strengths and qualities they show the world) and their inside self (the hopes, pressures, and truths they usually don’t let others see). With that reflection in mind, they create vision boards that unite both sides — celebrating visible strengths while naming inner dreams. By pairing masks with vision boards, participants turn honesty into action, strengthen brotherhood, and chart a future built on courage and authenticity.
Benefits for Young Men
Honest Goal-Setting – Align outside strengths with inside aspirations.
Confidence & Agency – Turn inner hopes into a concrete visual plan.

STEP-BY-STEP Program
Dream Builders: A Brotherhood Vision Board Night
1. Welcome & Purpose (5 minutes)
Host Script:
“Tonight is about building your future. But before we set goals, we’ll start with the #MillionMaskMovement. Because when you think about your future, it has to include both what people already see in you and the real hopes you carry inside. Vision boards are most powerful when they come from your full truth.”
2. Create a Mask (10 minutes)
Hand out mask cards.
Invite participants to write/draw:
Front (outside): the positive qualities they usually show the world (e.g., hardworking, funny, confident, athletic).
Back (inside): the “real stuff” they usually don’t let others see (e.g., fear of failure, stress, sadness, family pressure).
Collect masks
Reflection: “Our vision boards work best when they reflect both the outside strengths we’re proud of and the inside truths we want to honor.”
3. Build the Vision Board (30–35 minutes)
Invite participants to:
Cut or draw images/words that connect to their goals.
Include sections like: Strengths I Bring, Dreams I Hold Inside, Supports I Need, First Next Step.
Encourage boldness — let the board reflect both current reality and future possibilities.
4. Share & Encourage (15–20 minutes)
Each participant shares one or two key images from their board:
“This is the strength I want to lean on.”
“This is the dream I want to make real.”
Group offers encouragement or ways they can support each other.
5. Closing & Positive Action (5–10 minutes)
Each participant writes a first step on an index card or sticky note (e.g., “sign up for tutoring,” “talk to my coach,” “start a savings jar”).
Optional: post steps on a “Wall of Commitment.”
Host Script:
“Your future starts tonight — not just with pictures and words, but with a first step you commit to taking.”
6. SHARE MASKS POST EVENT (10 minutes)
Take pictures of each mask and email them to millionmask@everforwardclub.org to join our #MillionMaskMovement and help us reach 100,000 people by this November!
